Healed

“Lord, please let me worship You during the music this morning,” I prayed on the way to church. I really wanted the music on Sunday morning still to feel relevant by Sunday afternoon.

That prayer was fast-actin’. We had a guest music team, Heartsong, from Cedarville University.

I purchased their CD, Healed, and am plagiarizing the lyrics from its title cut below. Now that I’ve given them a free plug, perhaps they won’t mind.

Healed

With blood on my hands
And fever in my heart
My soul gives in to anything

‘Cause day after day
My soul gives in to lies
That I’m beyond
Any hope of love

But on the cross
The hammer fell for all of us

It’s Your blood that covers me, covers me
Grace that carries me, carries me
Jesus, Great Physician of my soul
Would You heal me?

With lips that can’t speak
And ears that cannot hear
My idols lie in silence

So why do I give them obsession
And give them my heart
When in the end
There’s no hope of love

‘Cause on the cross
The hammer fell for all of us

It’s Your blood that covers me, covers me
Grace that carries me, carries me
Jesus, Great Physician of my soul
Would You heal me?

So here’s to the sin that so easily besets
Here’s to my doubts that reek of regret
Here’s to my fears that bleed me to death
And here’s to the days I just want to forget

Here’s to the darkness that haunts every step
Here’s to addictions that want my heart dead
And here’s to diseases destroying my faith
And here’s to my pride that says it’s too late

It’s Your blood that covers me, covers me
Grace that carries me, carries me
Jesus, Great Physician of my soul
Would You heal me?

With blood that covers me, covers me
Grace that carries me, carries me
Jesus, Great Physician of my soul
Would You heal me?

With lips that can’t speak
And ears that cannot hear
My idols lie in silence

"My soul gives into anything" "My soul gives into lies"

Interesting. I would have said "my mind"......I'll be thinking on this today.
