News from the Home Front

I went to the high school from which the voice of Bart Simpson graduated. Our rival high school across town is gaining national attention in a different way.

It turns out she entered the game in the fourth quarter against my high school alma mater. She made history as the first female in Ohio to accomplish that as a non-kicker.

I’m coaching a track meet on Saturday. I wish she were throwing the shot put for us at our meet.

Be honest. How many folks out there realized: 1) Bart Simpson is a woman; or 2) a young lady had played offensive guard for an American high school football team?

Wow! I was at that game, and I didn't even notice her. I guess I was too bummed out about the home team losing 44-0 to realize that history was being made right before my eyes. Maybe if the Goodyear Blimp had flown by I would have suspected that something special was happening.

Not only a woman, but a devout Scientologist. Ever wonder why, despite blatant attacks on Scientology by South Park, the Simpsons have never done the same?

1) I had no idea that the voice of Bart Simpson is a female.

2) I've heard of other young ladies playing high school football, and even found some "more,". It's a bit out of date, but interesting.

Holly is on the Yahoo! homepage news today (Sat.), too.
