New Digs

My office moved on down to the east side, where I finally got a piece of the cave. Since almost no one reading this will have any clue what I mean or where this cave might be located, just enjoy having the theme song from “The Jeffersons” stuck in your head – unless you still have no clue what I mean. In that case, you’re on your own. (But thanks for reading.)

Apparently smooth jazz is cave music. Whereas my former officemate had a thing about making me eat heart of cow, my officemate in the cave finds himself more productive when listening to the soundtrack from The Weather Channel. I reserve the right to make Weather Channel jokes at any point in time when I hear smooth jazz. His daughter even giggles when she walks in and I interject, “And now your local forecast...”

My sincerest condolences on the smooth jazz thing. I'm reminded of Norm McDonald on SNL's weekend update:

"Kenny G released a new Christmas album this year. Hey- Happy Birthday Jesus! Hope you like crap!"

I like my new officemate, smooth jazz and all. To be fair, he also rotates among sports talk radio, big band music and more recent stuff – at least, all of those have received airtime thus far. The musical mélange suits me just fine.

Mostly, I like making Weather Channel jokes.
