Witty Captions

Sadly, I have nothing witty to say about camel shadows. But wasn’t that fun, anyway?I wanted to point out that many of my pictures from recent posts have included alt texts. What this basically means is that when you put the cursor over one of my pictures, a witty caption will come up.

Try moving your mouse over the camels to the right.

Happy Armistice Day!

those tags seem to only work in IE and not in firefox.

yeah, they're not coming up for me with firefox either.

I did a search and think I found out how to solve the problem. Let me know if, using Firefox, you can now read the caption on this post.

nope.... still no captions with firefox. At first, I thought it was a hoax.... (and here I ashamedly admit that I looked at the picture for several dumbfounded seconds not seeing any camels either)... it's not a hoax is it?

Not a hoax...camels and captions are both present. I had no idea there were so many Firefox folks out there. I'm not sure I'd even heard of Firefox before. Perhaps y'all will have to humor me and check out my blog with an Internet Explorer browser!

Firefox is getting more and more popular because it doesn't seem to have as many bugs and virueses as the official Microsoft browser. Of course, that's because it's been less popular. And that means it's harder to do official Microsoft programs with Firefox, and that many programs link up with the predominant browser, Explorer, meaning they don't work as well with a minority browser.

OK - I used the dreaded... IE and saw the caption, or lack of caption, as it were... and thought perhaps we should list some alternate captions for you. I'll go first:

Optional caption A)"I was supposed to bring frankincense? I thought you said Frankenstein and it took me forever to track down a copy on DVD!"
Optional caption B)"Look! It's the three Amigos, Western Sahara style!"
Optional caption C)"Please tell me it is starting to rain... and your Camel didn't just spit on me!"

Those are pretty good! You’ll have to do what I did and advertise your wittiness on your own blog.

Okay, try this one...three hours into the desert:

“This horse is becoming uncomfortable. Toss me one of your pillows.”

“Those aren’t pillows.”
