In North America, cats have nine lives. In North Africa, cats have seven lives. In North America, curiosity killed the cat. My officemate tells me that, in North Africa, curiosity is perceived as a characteristic of elderly women. She also says that I am more curious than anyone she knows.
Now I’m curious:
- Does my officemate think of me as an elderly woman?
- If American cats could defer their curiosity, would they need fewer lives?
- What is the life expectancy of an elderly, female cat of mixed lineage?
