It’s Cold Outside

After the fall, the warmth steadily faded away. The trees stopped playing in the breeze, and a few that weren’t firmly rooted got knocked to the ground by angry gusts of wind that escaped almost as soon as we’d come to know their voices.

Surely somewhere it’s summer this time of year. Maybe, with a little imagination – an airplane, perhaps – I could find myself there in a couple of days. Then again, Christmas wouldn’t be the same without the cold.

By week’s end it will be summer in Antarctica. I wonder what that’s like.

Far warmer than in the past, at 20-50 degrees Farenheit on the edge, allowing for green plant life to begin growing there, and the probability of no sea-ice at all by 2040, leading to a drop in marine mammal populations. Oh, and a decrease in ozone in the troposphere dramatically increasing cancer for higher organisms and destroying phytoplankton which is the basis of the food chain. Otherwise it's nice.

How in the WORLD did an ad for the "Red Hat Ladies" Society get placed on your blog!? Makes me re-think the absurdity of asking you what an Italian nun would want from N. Africa! Hehe
