Baboons and Their Cuisine

I wrote a story with my class of third, fourth and fifth graders this morning. We used the picture below to help get us started.

A baboon is drinking out of a box. He is drinking milk. Baboons can’t drink chocolate milk, because they could die. They could drink pink milk or white milk.

Baboons really like chicken. Sometimes they eat leftover chicken off the ground. They like to eat bones, but they like to eat chicken nuggets, too.

Editor’s Note: During brainstorming, students mentioned that baboons like to eat fish and chips...but somehow I didn’t think that was an intentional reference to British-style cuisine. Also, we discussed the difference between fiction and non-fiction.
