My brother bought me books with tips on digital photography. Already, I’ve read useful tips, such as:
- When photographing something that has already been over-photographed, look for a different angle.
- In lieu of a different angle, at least try to set up a more interesting background.
- Rather than try to capture the subject in its entirety, photograph details that suggest the whole.
Given an impromptu visit to Washington, D.C., I had a few opportunities to test my skill with these tips. Ever looked up Abe Lincoln’s schnoz before? Gotten on his olfactory nerves?
